About Us
Youth for History is student-founded and student-led. We work with schools, librarians, and community partners to make history visible and meaningful for younger students
Who we are
We are middle-school and high-school students with a shared passion for history.
Across the United States
Our members are based in multiple states across the country.
Why We Do This
We want to share historical knowledge, spark curiosity, and make a meaningful impact through education, preservation, and community engagement.
01.
What we do
A poster is only a beginning. Our bigger goal is to help young people
- enjoy learning history
- learn how to discuss it thoughtfully
- connect it to their own community
- use it to think clearly about today
02.
Our values
- Curiosity over memorization
- Respect and accuracy (real people, real lives, careful sources)
- Access (materials that kids can actually read)
- Community (schools + libraries + local partners)
- "Use history to understand today" (learn from the past, think better now)
03.
Local partnerships
Building strong relationships with the community is vital and we work closely with local partners.
Our Vision & Mission
We believe history is not just "what happened" - it is practice for understanding hoe societies change, how choices matter, and how each generation becomes part of the story.
- Foster young people's love of history.
- Grow their ability to learning from it.
- Apply history knowledge to daily life.
- Create long-term impact in communities we serve.
